Thank you for your interest in joining us by becoming a member and/or making a donation to the Center for Sustainable Stewardship. We are able to continue in the pursuit of delivering our mission and vision with the philanthropic support from friends like you.

Join CSS as a member with a monthly, quarterly or annual contribution. Your membership donation will help maintain and protect the CSS facilities and the surrounding acreage, lake and streams, provide community education and demonstrate a model for sustainable farming and energy production, as well as create a community of like-minded stewards to preserve Big East Fork Valley for future generations.

Membership: $5,000/year. Your donation will help operate our school-age education program and maintain our outdoor classroom.

Membership includes: 20% discount at Big East Fork lodging; 20% discount retreat and conference room rentals; invitation to our annual "Gratitude Dinner"; 100 free day passes for employees;

For an additional fee we can develop a sustainability project on-site for your company participation. Projects can demonstrate ways to improve our environmental impact and help protect our natural resources while demonstrating sustainable practices. These projects can be documented with video and photographs. Examples of ongoing projects include: planting trees; solar installation; assistance with ongoing research projects on water quality and other sustainable practices.

Many employers will match gifts that their employees make to nonprofits. Information on gift-matching programs can be found on, and you can always ask your employer directly about matching your gift to CSS.

Securities or stocks also make effective gifts. You are entitled to deductions for the fair market value of the stock on the date of the gift, plus you pay no tax on the capital gain value of the gift shares. A deduction of up to 30 percent of your adjusted gross income is available, with a five-year carry-over of excess deductions.
